What is the difference between aircon repair and servicing?
Servicing is routine maintenance to keep the unit running smoothly (filter cleaning, condenser wash, refrigerant check). Repair fixes a broken or malfunctioning aircon (not cooling, leaking, noisy compressor, power tripping). FixMove offers both services separately based on your unit's needs.
Why is my aircon not cold?
Common causes include low refrigerant gas (leak or depletion), dirty filter or evaporator coil blocking airflow, compressor failure, blocked drain pipe affecting sensor function, or faulty thermostat. We diagnose the root cause with pressure testing before proposing the repair solution.
What does an aircon diagnosis cost?
Diagnosis visit costs S$40 and includes pressure testing, electrical checks and visual inspection of key components. If you proceed with repair, the diagnosis fee is typically deducted from the final repair cost, making the net repair cost lower.
Why is my aircon leaking water?
Water leakage usually means a blocked drain pipe (common in humid Singapore climates), loose pipe joints, or a faulty drain pan. We locate the leak point, clear the blockage using suction or flush method, and test the drainage before closure to prevent future leaks.
Can you repair all aircon brands in Singapore?
Yes. We service most common brands including Daikin, Midea, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Hitachi and Fujitsu. For non-standard or very old unit models, we confirm brand compatibility and parts availability before proceeding with repair.
What is your standard repair warranty?
Most repairs come with a 3-month parts and labor warranty. The exact terms depend on the component replaced and are confirmed in the quotation before work begins. Genuine parts carry the manufacturer warranty in addition to our labor warranty.
How long does an aircon repair usually take?
Simple repairs like topping up refrigerant or clearing a drain take 30-45 minutes. Component replacements like compressor or PCB board can take 1-2 hours depending on unit model, access and internal condition. We estimate the time after diagnosis.
Do you charge call-out or diagnostic fees separately?
Diagnosis visit costs S$40. This fee is deducted from the repair cost if you proceed with our repair service. If you choose not to repair with us, the diagnosis fee is charged separately.
Can a broken aircon be repaired or should it be replaced?
We assess the repair cost versus replacement cost based on unit age, condition and frequency of past failures. If the unit is old (10+ years) and requires expensive component replacement (like compressor), replacement may be more cost-effective long-term. We advise based on your situation without pressure.
Why is my aircon making noise?
Noise can originate from a faulty compressor (knocking or grinding), loose fan blade (squealing or rattling), refrigerant leak (hissing sound), or internal component vibration. We inspect, listen and identify the source, then advise the best repair option to restore quiet operation.
