Show hob, wall, upper cabinets, ceiling, nearby services, access and the full proposed hood position rather than only a close-up of the old unit.

Inclusions and exclusions for the written quote

- Ventilation: recirculating filter or ducted route, diameter, adapters, accessible joints, termination assumption and any work expressly excluded.
- Power and test: compatible existing plug or separately assigned licensed electrical work, plus light, fan-speed, vibration and basic airflow checks.
- Not assumed: gas work, hob work, new external opening, RC hacking, major carpentry, stone cutting, duct cleaning, disposal, patching, painting or regulatory approval.
- Warranty: installation workmanship and supplied fittings must be separated from the cooker hood manufacturer's appliance and parts warranty.
Singapore electrical and HDB boundary
EMA states that electrical works must be undertaken or carried out by a licensed electrical worker. A compatible manufacturer plug at an existing point is not the same scope as relocating a point, adding fixed wiring or modifying a circuit. HDB's current building-work guidance includes conditions for kitchen, wall, ceiling and household-shelter works and does not make a new duct opening or structural alteration part of an ordinary appliance-mounting job. Do you install both ducted and recirculating cooker hoods?
Compatible recirculating hoods and ducted replacements can be assessed. For a recirculating unit, the quote should identify the correct filters and clearances. For a ducted unit, it should identify the existing outlet, duct diameter, route, joints, backdraft provision and whether the route is permitted. A new external opening or building discharge route is not included by assumption.
Is cabinet cutting included with cooker hood installation?
Only when the accepted quote names the cabinet panel, cut-out dimensions, edge finish, dust protection and responsibility for fit. Major cabinet alteration, new carpentry, stone cutting, structural work and making good are separate. Share cabinet and hood drawings before the visit so a mounting job is not mistaken for a kitchen-remodelling scope.
Is a Licensed Electrical Worker needed for a cooker hood?
Using a compatible manufacturer-supplied plug at an accessible existing point is different from altering fixed wiring. Any new or relocated power point, fixed connection, concealed cable, isolation switch or circuit work must be separately scoped and carried out by an appropriately licensed electrical worker where required. The quote should state the power method and assigned electrical scope.
How long does cooker hood installation take?
