MCB & RCCB Replacement Cost Singapore
About FixMove — FixMove Singapore replaces faulty MCBs and RCCBs and upgrades distribution (DB) boards with EMA-licensed electricians. Single MCB from $80, RCCB from $150, 6/12/18-way board from $380 — diagnosed first so you only replace what's genuinely faulty, with the price confirmed before work.
A breaker that won't reset, an RCCB that keeps tripping, or a scorched MCB is a safety issue — not a DIY job. We test the board first, then replace only the faulty MCB or RCCB (or upgrade the whole board if it's at the end of its life), with the cost quoted upfront.
MCB / RCCB & DB board pricing
Indicative ranges; final price confirmed after the technician inspects your board — never above the written quote.
| Diagnosis (why it's tripping) | from $80 |
| Single MCB replacement | from $80 |
| RCCB / ELCB replacement | from $150 |
| Full DB board upgrade — 6 / 12 / 18-way | $380 / $580 / $780 |
Board upgrades add $40 per MCB. Diagnosis is waived or credited when you proceed with the replacement.
MCB vs RCCB — what's failing?
MCB (overload protection)
Protects each circuit from overload and short-circuit. A worn or scorched MCB is swapped like-for-like.
RCCB / ELCB (shock protection)
Trips on earth leakage to protect against shock. A faulty RCCB — or a real leakage fault — needs a licensed check.
Repeated tripping
Often a faulty appliance or circuit, not the breaker. We diagnose first so you don't replace a healthy part.
Old / full DB board
If the board is ageing or has no spare ways, a 6/12/18-way upgrade is the cleaner long-term fix.
Why not just keep resetting it?
A breaker trips to protect you — forcing a faulty MCB or RCCB back on, or taping it up, removes that protection and risks shock or fire. Singapore wiring standards require RCD/RCCB protection on home circuits, so an RCCB that won't hold should never be bypassed. Our EMA-licensed electricians find the root cause first, replace only what's genuinely faulty, and leave the board safe and labelled.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does MCB or RCCB replacement cost in Singapore?
A single MCB swap is indicatively from $80 and an RCCB from $150, including the part and EMA-licensed labour. A full DB board upgrade is $380 (6-way), $580 (12-way) or $780 (18-way), plus $40 per MCB. The final price is confirmed before work.
What is the difference between an MCB and an RCCB?
An MCB protects a circuit from overload and short-circuit. An RCCB (or ELCB) trips on earth leakage to protect against electric shock. If your RCCB trips repeatedly or won't reset, it may be faulty or a circuit has a genuine leakage fault — both need a licensed check.
My breaker keeps tripping — do I need a new one?
Not always. Repeated tripping is often a faulty appliance or circuit, not the breaker itself. We diagnose first (from $80) and only replace the MCB/RCCB if it is genuinely faulty, so you don't pay for a part you don't need.
Is RCCB protection required in Singapore?
Singapore wiring standards require RCD/RCCB protection on final circuits in homes. If your older DB board lacks it, we can add or upgrade RCCB protection as part of a board upgrade.
