A diagnosis-first path keeps a suspected refrigerant leak distinct from routine aircon servicing and broad fault repair.

Initial diagnosis

Checks whether the symptom is more consistent with refrigerant loss, airflow restriction, controls or another fault. It establishes the next test; it does not promise a located leak.

Focused leak testing

Defines the system and suspected areas to be tested. The method and access scope should be confirmed because visible joints and concealed pipework are not the same job.

Repair and recharge

Begins only after the location, repair scope and price are approved. Refrigerant is then a separate item based on the system nameplate and required amount.

Reasons not to assume “gas leak”

  • Dirty filters, coils or restricted airflow can also cause weak cooling and icing.
  • Sensors, controls, fans and compressor faults can overlap with low-refrigerant symptoms.
